Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Mohamed Salah, and several other top football stars have been shortlisted for the 2025 FIFA Best Player Awards
The world football governing body, FIFA, unveiled the full list of nominees on Wednesday, calling on fans, journalists, and national team coaches and captains from its 211 member associations to cast their votes before November 28.

Mbappe, Dembele, others lead nominees for FIFA player of the yearReal Madrid’s Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain’s Dembélé headline the men’s category, joined by England’s Harry Kane, Barcelona’s Pedri, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, and Spain’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal.
In the women’s category, Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí, England’s Lauren James, and Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie—who earned a nomination for Best Goalkeeper—are among the standout contenders.
FIFA said this year’s edition would celebrate individuals and teams who have taken football to new heights, particularly following the success of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, which drew more than 2.5 million fans in the United States.
Voting is now open for all categories, including Best Player, Best Coach, and Best Goalkeeper for both men and women. The process will close on November 28, with winners to be revealed later this year at a grand awards ceremony.
According to FIFA, the results will be determined through an equal voting system—25% each from fans, journalists, national team coaches, and captains.
