Imisi’s mother has broken her silence, speaking candidly about how her relationship with the BBNaija winner has deteriorated since her rise to fame
In a recent video, she described feeling neglected and mistreated by her daughter despite her own efforts to support her.
She said:
“I am the biological mother of Imisi. I know I might be bad, but it is God that judges. I am not educated, neither am I rich, but I thank God for supporting Imisi. I went to visit my younger sister in Ajah — she was the one who gave me food and these clothes I am wearing. To everyone criticizing me for not taking care of Imisi, I say thank you, but it’s good to always know the full story before judging.”
The mother also recounted her sacrifices, insisting she worked hard to see her daughter succeed:
“As a mother, I was running around for Imisi to win so she could lift me out of poverty, yet people say I am not a good mum. Everyone is cursing me. I had to move out of where I was living. My own daughter said she hates me and cannot stand me. Is it really that bad? I have a lot to tell the world.”
She expressed disappointment over being excluded from key moments of her daughter’s success:
“I wasn’t informed about the day she would receive her gifts from Big Brother until around 4pm. I was called to dress up as if she was the one buying clothes for me. If you were in my shoes, how would you feel?”
Rumors have resurfaced about Imisi’s childhood, claiming she was allegedly expelled from her family home at age 12. Some reports suggest she faced severe hardships, including living on the streets and experiencing trauma during her early teens.
Imisi herself has publicly shared her painful experiences, revealing that she faced abuse and neglect as a child, which has made reconciling with her mother complicated since gaining fame.
