Train heading to Abuja reverses back to Kaduna midway into trip

KADUNA ABUJA TRAIN

Passengers traveling from Kaduna to Abuja were left stranded on Thursday after their train broke down

This happened not long after departure.

The train left Kaduna a few minutes past 2 p.m. but developed a fault about an hour into the journey and was forced to return to Kaduna.

Reports said the train crew could not explain what happened initially, but the train suddenly started reversing back to Kaduna midway into the trip.

A staff of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) in Kaduna, who asked not to be named, confirmed that the train encountered a problem and had to return for repairs.

“The train left for the 2 p.m. schedule but had issues on the way and came back to Kaduna. Most of the passengers are still waiting at the station, hoping it will be fixed soon, while others have gone back home,’ he told Leadership.
