Senator Ned Nwoko has addressed the controversy surrounding a leaked medical report concerning his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, affirming that the documents are authentic and highlighting serious health concerns.
In a detailed statement, Nwoko confirmed that both a toxicology report and assessments from a rehabilitation center indicate the presence of marijuana, cocaine, morphine, opiates, and alcohol at dangerously high levels. He also referenced a report from Nizamiya Hospital dated October 3, which states that Regina was admitted unconscious following a drug overdose.
Nwoko criticized ongoing interference from some family members during her rehabilitation, claiming that they allowed access to alcohol and marijuana, which hindered her recovery. He said these challenges, combined with the severity of the substances detected, make private intervention insufficient and underscore the need for structured treatment.
He emphasized that his concern stems from care for Regina and their two young sons. He argued that her recent actions suggest she is in a vulnerable state and being exploited by those around her. Nwoko reiterated that consistent treatment, support, and protection are essential, stressing that denial or enabling will not help her regain stability.
“Past attempts to help her privately did not succeed. Given the severity of the substances detected and the documented hospital emergency, it is no longer an issue that can be handled quietly. Regina needs support, treatment, and protection to regain her health and make safe decisions for her future and her children,” the statement read.
Amid the controversy, Regina Daniels publicly expressed gratitude to Serenity Royale Hospital, which clarified that it did not circulate the leaked report. She thanked the hospital for upholding patient confidentiality and standing by the truth, acknowledging that the leak caused her considerable distress.
The situation highlights ongoing concerns over her health and well-being, while both Nwoko and Daniels navigate public scrutiny, privacy, and the need for genuine intervention.
