Shettima departs for South Africa to attend G20 Summit


Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja today to represent President Bola Tinubu at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa

President Tinubu had earlier postponed his trip to Johannesburg to receive further security briefings following recent incidents in Kebbi and Kwara states.

The summit, scheduled for Saturday, November 22, to Sunday, November 23, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, was convened by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who also serves as the current G20 President.

It will bring together leaders from the world’s top 20 economies, the European Union, the African Union, and key financial institutions.

He is expected to return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
