Fubo customers were in for a surprise last week, when the popular OTT streamer announced that customers using its live TV service would no longer have access to NBCUniversal channels.
In a statement released Friday, Fubo said that while they have “been engaged in good faith negotiations with NBCU to renew our long-standing content agreement to distribute their networks to consumers,” they unfortunately “believe NBCU has offered terms regarding pricing and packaging that are egregiously above those offered to other distributors. As a result, NBCU networks are no longer available on the Fubo platform as of 5pm ET 11/21/25.”
The loss of NBCUniversal channels on Fubo means customers will no longer have access to a live feed of their local NBC affiliate, along with CNBC, MSNBC, Bravo, USA Network, Telemundo and NBC Sports, among others. Fortunately, there are a few other ways to livestream NBC channels online, including ways to watch them online for free.
TOP PICK
DirecTV
Your best bet is to switch from Fubo to DirecTV, which offers you the same ability to watch live TV online without cable. DirecTV’s current packages include all the NBC channels, and pricing starts at just $49.99/month for your first month of service. Don’t want to commit? DirecTV offers a five-day free trial that you can get here. Use it to watch NBCUniversal channels online without Fubo.
DirecTV is one of our favorite all-around streaming services, and we recently named it to our list of Rolling Stone Essentials 2026.
OFFICIAL STREAMER
Peacock
Peacock is the official streaming home for NBCUniversal and it’s where you’ll be able to find thousands of hours of on-demand movies, TV shows and specials, in addition to live sports and a live feed of your local NBC affiliate, NBC Sports Now, NBC News Now and others. Peacock currently costs $10.99/month for access to its Peacock Premium tier.
Unfortunately Peacock doesn’t currently offer a free trial on its own, but Amazon Prime members can get a seven-day free trial through the Prime Channels storefront here.
ALSO CONSIDER
Hulu + Live TV
Another way to watch NBCUniversal channels online and a great Fubo alternative is Hulu + Live TV. The live TV streamer offers more than 95 popular channels, including NBC, Bravo, USA Network and more. Your monthly subscription price of $89.99/month also includes access to ESPN, Disney+, and Hulu’s whole on-demand library of content. Test drive Hulu + Live TV with a three-day free trial here.
All of the above Fubo TV alternatives let you watch NBC-owned stations and all the other channels on your phone, laptop, tablet or smart TV without needing cable.
The Fubo and NBCUniversal dispute comes on the heels of a breakdown in talks between YouTube TV and Disney, which led to ESPN, ABC and other Disney-owned stations no longer being carried on the streamer. Those channels have since been restored.
