Tom Cruise’s (probably) final outing as Ethan Hunt is landing on streaming next week. Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will hit Paramount+ on Dec. 4, the streaming service announced today.
The Final Reckoning, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, stars Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Pom Klementieff, and more. The film finds Hunt and co. facing off against a destructive AI threat called The Entity, which has infiltrated intelligence systems around the world.

Paramount+ is currently $2.99 a month for the first two months during its Black Friday promotion, which ends on Dec. 2.
Originally slated to serve as a direct sequel to Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, The Final Reckoning included nods to earlier entries in the series, capping a role Cruise has played since 1996, when Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible was released.
The film is the eighth installment in the franchise, and the fourth in a row directed by McQuarrie. Naturally, much of the appeal of the Mission: Impossible series lies in watching Cruise pull off death-defying stunts. The heavily promoted plane sequence lives up to the hype, according to the Rolling Stone review of the film. “Unlike the previous Mission: Impossible‘s various, vertigo-inducing showstoppers, this one is left for the last act, and it’s worth the wait,” wrote Rolling Stone film critic David Fear.
“Not even the endless crowing about this daredevil feat in the marketing campaign leading up to the Cannes Film Festival premiere … can suck the exhilaration and sense of awe of watching this extended jaunt through the wild blue yonder.”
As for the rest of the franchise, it’s also available to stream on Paramount+.
