OnePlus revealed the latest top-tier phone, the OnePlus 15, a few days back. For some years now, the company’s flagships come with less premium but more value-for-money flagship killers, denoted by an “R” suffix. OnePlus stated the phone, OnePlus 15R, would be coming soon, thereby raising the expectations for a launch soon.

The UK and India websites of the company have started showcasing the shape of the upcoming phone, the OnePlus 15R. The phone is available in two colours: dark grey and metallic green. Much about the phone or its design hasn’t been revealed, though the looks and design of the OnePlus Ace 6, which launched in China last month, can be seen.

According to the teaser, the design of the OnePlus Ace 6 is clear and gives more confidence in the assumption that the OnePlus Ace 5, the Ace 6 predecessor, was rebranded as the OnePlus 13R for global markets. From the features of the Ace 6 and earlier standards of using the previous year’s flagship chip, we can expect the OnePlus 15R to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with RAM and storage options similar to the OnePlus 15. It will still have a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, just like the premium model. The Ace 6 also replaces the optical scanner on the Ace 5 display with an ultrasonic fingerprint one.

The Chinese variant packs a huge 7,800mAh battery with 120W charging support. It’s not clear if the global variant will have similar features. The camera is one area the OnePlus Ace 6 appears to be significantly downgraded. The Ace 6 drops the 2x telephoto from the Ace 5 or OnePlus 13R, but maintains the same 50MP primary and 8MP ultrawide angle cameras the series has relied on since the 12R.

A new watch was released alongside the OnePlus 15R. This watch could be another rebrand, as it has a similar design to the OnePlus Watch 3 and claims of battery life with a 10-day backup. The extended backup is a result of the Watch S using a custom OS instead of Google’s Wear OS platform. This may be due to OnePlus’ current efforts with updating its existing watches to the latest Wear OS edition.

The OnePlus 15R will get to India before the end of 2025, accompanied by the new watch. Neither gadget is mentioned on the OnePlus US website, so the launch here might be delayed. The current delay of the OnePlus 15 also contributes to this.
