Samsung’s first TriFold device, which unfolds twice to reveal a 10-inch main screen, is far from a concept at this point. Samsung has already teased the Galaxy Z TriFold at a recent event in South Korea. The Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold is slated to come to the US, though the phone is expected to have a limited release outside of the make’s home market. It looks like the company is making the necessary preparations to bring the Galaxy Z TriFold stateside, like firmware testing for US models.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is currently testing system software for another Galaxy Z TriFold model and it revealed firmware testing for the carrier-locked variant of the Galaxy Z TriFold that has a SM-F968U model number.
The Galaxy Z TriFold with model number SM-F968U1 is undergoing firmware testing. This version will be sold directly from Samsung and its retail partners. The report confirms that Samsung plans to sell the phone in the U.S. both through retail channels and cellular carriers.

Carrying out the firmware testing seems rather late considering that Samsung plans to launch the new phone model in less than a month. At least we’re clear on one thing — the Galaxy Z Trifold will get a US release.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold will sport a 6.5-inch outer screen and a 10-inch main screen. It offers a cover display of 2,600-nit peak brightness rating. The processor is expected to be either the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite or the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Rumours claim the TriFold will launch on December 5. If that’s the case, we will be expecting more details about specs and pricing, but it will definitely cost a great deal.
