It’s frustrating to type one thing and see your keyboard type another because it thought you meant that. That’s what iPhone users have been facing since the iPhone iOS 26 was launched. Their complaints reveal the keyboard is broken, unreliable, sluggish and changes normal words into completely different ones that don’t even make sense sometimes.
A Reddit thread with the title: “It’s not just you, the iOS keyboard is broken” shared complaints and over 600 comments from users, all complaining about the problems they faced with the iOS 26 unreliable keyboard.
The issues with the autocorrect on iOS 26 keyboard include autocorrect rewriting correctly typed words into nonsense, changing a couple of correct words or sentences into something else entirely after hitting the “send” button, and many more.
Other problems with the autocorrect on the phone include reports of missed taps, lag between pressing a key and seeing it appear, and the spacebar triggering punctuation on its own. Its sluggishness and silly, unwanted corrections are enough to make anyone fed up with the keyboard. With this major issue of the keyboard, you would think the next software update would fix it. The reality is far from that.
The iOS 26.2 beta 3 that recently launched doesn’t include any updates to fix the autocorrect problems. The problems need to be addressed quickly so iPhone users can enjoy a better typing experience just like Android users. Regarding when the issue will be fixed, we don’t know yet. We can only hope Apple handles the problem in the fourth software update.
