A report from The Bell claims that Samsung is planning significant improvements for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 by reducing both the thickness and weight of the device by more than 10%.
Slimmer Galaxy Z Flip 8
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been a hit, but that cannot be said about the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It didn’t sell as it was expected. While the Galaxy Z Fold 7 came with a slimmer build, wider cover display, and lighter weight, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 didn’t have significant improvements. It just came with a larger display and a newer Snapdragon chipset.
With the Galaxy Z Flip 8, things are going to be different. The company won’t overlook the Flip series this time. It even plans to sell more Z Flip 8 units than the Z Fold 8. It is said to be the reason for next year’s increase in foldable sales. Samsung aims for an overall 10% increase in foldable sales compared to this year.
While all these are underway, Apple is also working on its first foldable to debut next year. Apple’s foldable has long been expected, with other companies taking the limelight. Apple isn’t the only company gearing up for a foldable release next year. The Cupertino company has also been working on its foldable device for some years now with a possible release expected next year.
