Singer, Bella Shmurda has disclosed that his 2020 hit song Cash App was inspired by the challenges faced by internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys
In an interview with Clout Africa, Shmurda said he created the track to resonate with people involved in the hustle, noting that the world of online fraud can be stressful.
“They have to dance, they have to enjoy themselves. Internet fraud is not easy; it comes with a lot of pressure,” he explained. “When it comes to inspiration, there’s no set story behind it. It’s natural. It just comes—it’s God-given. So, Cash App is divine.”
The song, which features Zlatan and Lincoln, quickly became a major hit across Nigeria and other parts of Africa, solidifying Bella Shmurda’s status as one of the country’s leading music acts.
