Earlier this year, the Walmart Birkin (a.k.a. the Wirkin) and Amazon’s Birkin-style bag took social media by storm when sharp-eyed shoppers found the Hermès-inspired handbag dupes on the discount retailers’ websites.
Several versions of the iconic-looking bag were made available and then quickly discontinued on both Walmart and Amazon after thousands of shoppers flooded the sites to buy the dupe. Now, however, a couple of new Birkin-style bags have emerged on Amazon.

One of the Hermes-style bags that got a restock is this two-tone design. The bag measures 13 inches and is made of waterproof PU leather. The removable strap lets you wear this as a handbag, shoulder bag, or crossbody bag.

The Birkin alternative features the classic buckle on the top and a boxy, structured silhouette. It features drop handles and a detachable shoulder strap, which is great for traveling or commuting. Measuring just under 13 inches wide, it’s ideal for office days, errand runs, and evening outings.

On an earnings call, Hermès CEO Axel Dumas officially had “no comment” on the Walmart Birkin, though he let slip that he was “irritated” by copycat bags. Still, the CEO concedes that no one will believe that they are getting a real Hermès bag, since sites like Walmart and Amazon aren’t selling counterfeit versions, but rather similar-looking alternatives. Dumas added that it was “quite touching” to see the desire in shoppers to get their hands on the real thing.
