Firefighters from the Federal Capital Territory Fire Service were deployed immediately, working to contain the fire while staff and visitors evacuated the building. There are currently no confirmed casualties, though reports suggest that everyone inside was safely evacuated.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, and officials have not released details on the extent of the damage or whether critical documents were affected.

Sources near the building said the fire appeared to start suddenly, with some speculating that an electrical fault could be to blame, a common issue in public buildings across Nigeria.
