Musician and activist Eedris Abdulkareem has had his Facebook and Instagram accounts suspended by Meta
The suspension came shortly after he released a politically charged single titled ‘Open Letter to Donald Trump’. Attempts to access his accounts show they are currently unavailable.
Released on TikTok on November 29, 2025, under his label Lakreem Entertainment, the track is framed as a message to former US President Donald Trump but doubles as a scathing critique of Nigeria’s political leadership.
In the song, Abdulkareem calls Nigerian leaders “criminals of all shades and hues” who enrich themselves while citizens endure kidnappings, killings, and other security crises. He also raps “dem dey fear Donald Trump,” positioning the track as an attempt to draw international attention to Nigeria’s growing problems.

This is not the first time Abdulkareem has used his music to confront authority. In June 2024, he released ‘Emilokan’, in which he challenged RCCG founder Enoch Adeboye to speak critically about President Bola Tinubu’s administration, just as he did during Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure.
Earlier in April, he released ‘Tell Your Papa’, calling on Seyi Tinubu to convey Nigerians’ struggles to his father. The song was subsequently banned by the National Broadcasting Commission for allegedly breaching Section 3.1.8 of the Nigerian Broadcasting Code.
Abdulkareem’s history of politically charged music stretches back to 2004, when his hit ‘Jaga Jaga’ was banned from radio by then-President Olusegun Obasanjo, yet it went on to become an underground anthem.
