Over a taut, minimal beat, Doechii uses her verses to take on the haters directly. “All that industry plant shit whack / I see it on the blogs, I see you in the chats,” she sings. “Y’all can’t fathom that I earned this chart / Y’all can’t stand my vibe ‘cause I’m anointed.”

SZA takes the richly soulful choruses, while the video sees a confident and content Doechii on a yacht and a stadium rooftop as she reflects on her success to date.

It is Doechii’s biggest release since ‘Anxiety’ in the spring, a 2019 song that she re-recorded and reissued after it started gaining traction on TikTok. She went on to pick up five Grammy nominations, following on from her 2024 mixtape ‘Alligator Bites Never Heal’, which won at the Grammys for Best Rap Album.

She also played her ‘Live From The Swamp Tour’ in North America in October and November, having had to cancel a string of festival appearances in the UK over the summer.

She did however play a headline set on the West Holts stage at Glastonbury 2025. In a four-star reviewNME hailed the milestone performance as “a masterclass in hip-hop”.

It read: “This may not be the typical Glastonbury set full to the brim with special guests but in just 45 minutes, the Tampa star showcases what she does best and why she’s one of rap’s brightest lights. Consider us schooled.”

‘Anxiety’ was also recently named as one of the top 20 global songs on TikTok for 2025.

As for SZA, her combined tour with Kendrick Lamar was the fourth highest-grossing of the year, she made it onto Barack Obama’s music of the year list and she finished her year by slamming Donald Trump for using her music in an ICE video.
