Samsung is expecting One UI 8.5 software for Galaxy smartphones and tablets that will bring about several significant changes in design, way better than the current UI. Among the changes is the refreshed Quick Settings panel, which is expected to be more customizable in future updates. The One UI 8.5 will most likely come at the launch of the Galaxy S26 series.

A new leak shares more details about what the revamped Quick Settings in One UI 8.5 will offer. The tipster, Tarun Vats, shared a screenshot of the updated panel on X. Quick settings tiles for different shortcuts now have a thin outline that is clearly seen when the shortcut is disabled.

The outline separates the tile from the background. With its subtle touch, it goes easier on the eyes. It is quite clear that Samsung makes the background colour a bit less saturated than in former iterations, thus improving visibility.

One UI 8.5 adopts a glass-like aesthetic that will go with Samsung’s other plans for an overhauled interface inspired by Apple’s latest iOS 26. There is also the option to separate the volume and brightness controls, including the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi toggles, which is not supported in One UI 8. With the One UI 8.5 interface, you can resize individual quick setting tiles, similar to the Android 16 feature.

The stable One UI 8.5 build may roll out with the Galaxy S26 series early 2026, with a beta originally planned to arrive in November.
